About Ting Ru Chen
Ting Ru is an emerging Contemporary artist from Taiwan, whose artistic exploration revolves around existentialism. Being raised in an unstable family and multi-cultural background, it was difficult to find her position amongst the world she is existing in; resulting with a strong focus on human as an individual rather than a part of a community. She believes that understanding the true self-demand is crucial to survive in the contemporary society, where information are like particles in the air.
Her work demonstrated her interests on relationships between people, environment, and reasons behind to one’s behaviour. She aims to influence positively to those who felt struggling, anxious, and emptiness to life; while sharing contradictions that happens continuously inside her.
Working with mix media means that she is able to discover unlimited materials and methodology freely during her practices. She often considers how her work could cooperate with the environment; meaning that creating atmosphere is a major of her practice.
